Interests: To ruin Marisol's life and make her heart go doki. Sticking my hands into that sweet, sweet politics and ethics in a way that my other losers can't really get into due to their status, occupation or anger issues. I'm also interested in playing a character of nobility who actually gets to throw it around AND enjoys her nobility. History

Born the only child and daughter of Fereldan nobility near Highever, Adelaide was born into a world of art. The Ramsey family has long been known within the country as famous portrait painters of fellow nobility and royalty around Thedas for generations. As a result they have also become noted collectors with their various estates housing several priceless pieces from throughout the Ages and their presence common sights at artistic gatherings. Her mother's family, equally known in the art world, are conservator-restorers who have endlessly studied ways of preserving Alamarri and Fereldan art.

Adelaide, meanwhile, is the apple of her families' eyes with talent in both creating and restoring art from a literal lifetime of lessons. Between private tutors and a stint in the University of Orlais — she grew into an intelligent young woman with an eye for detail that might otherwise go unnoticed. It was during her time in Orlais that she began working into her second venture, using her eye for detail to instead begin building a network that began its trade in secrets but has grown into smuggling goods and once supplying Circles (both mages and templars) with forbidden goods simply because it was fun and risque. Though even this matures into a want to help out of goodness once supplies become people escaping from the torture and torment that had become all to common place in Circle life.

Since the fall of the Circles she has been using her funds to instead supply rebel cells with goods and transport mages across borders or, in some instances, offering them places within her own crews for safety. Adelaide has, in the meantime, kept up the mask of loyal daughter and keeps her movements strictly within bounds so as not to draw attention to herself nor her threaten funds coming both from her family and her own ventures or her crews. Smuggling isn't cheap, yo. It is because of this that her two crews act independently and have their own "captains" that act as the face of their stated ships.

Now as the world has begun to get crazier and fighting has changed to new faces, she has turned her eye to the Inquisition and begins to securing about new investors in arms smuggling.

Personality


Opinions & Affiliations

CHANTRY — Faithful but not dutiful. She mostly admires Andrastre for being a badass chick with an army.

DWARVES — Noted business sense, eye for detail and know how to get a their haggle on when needed. Besides, let's be real, about half her crew are made up of dwarves.

ELVES — Notably complicated since most of her experiences with elves comes from her families' servants. Has softened in recent years because of the elven mages she has granted passage on her ships or those that have joined her crews. The Dalish are just weird, violent forest hobos though.

MAGES — Determined to protect those that need protecting and, like everyone, they have their uses. Many have joined her crews and she rather fond of them and their lack of experience in the outside world.

Strengths & Weaknesses

STRENGTHS
  • Educated, well-spoken and knows how to navigate the waters of fellow nobles with a smile. She speaks Orlesian and Antivan with a noted accent.
  • Politically savvy with intimate understanding on how to best get information with her small physical skill set without showing her own hand.
  • Money, resources and status to allow her move about the company of other nobility without anyone batting an eye.
  • Knows a literal shit ton about art especially when it comes to Alamarri and Fereldan artworks. She has dabbled in artwork from Orlais and the Anderfels but those are secondary compared to the knowledge she has of the artwork from her homeland.


  • WEAKNESSES
  • As much as her nobility is a gift, it is also a weakness, especially in her line of work since it limits her movements and forces her to relay solely on secondhand accounts from her captains. She is also still very connected to her family so someone could easily get to them in order to get at her. Be cut off from it would also throw a wrench in her works since she relies heavily on her family allowance to keep her network moving.
  • Cannot fight to even save her own life. She is a lover, not a fighter and prefers words over knives but if a fight ever were to break out? Not good.
  • Has to work very, very hard in keeping her smuggling network hidden by covering tracks, money trails and all that other fun stuff. It's stressful, hard work that can take it's toll.
  • Overly paranoid as a result of the above. There are very few people she trusts to know all her secrets.

  • Inventory

    — A small (yet fancy) ship made for travel and carrying her shit around
    — Two bigger ships for smuggling but that won't be making actual appearances for awhile because who's a smuggler? Definitely not her, thank you.
    — Three adorable mabari that are the lights of her life.
    — Lots of fancy clothes, and fancier personal shit for her new home.
    — Servants, namely; her two maidservants, seamstress and personal nurse.

    Motivation

    It isn't hard not to notice that the Inquisition is making waves within the world and if there is one things she enjoys-- it's making waves. She also likes that they're helping mages. Whether or not she'll fold her smuggling network into the mix has yet to be seen but until then she can at least help bring in interesting pieces of information and perhaps help in the form of folks she to helps.
